New Application Forms.

The National Board of Industrial Property (INPI) has updated the forms for filing trademark applications adapting them to current local practices and enabling the correct identification of the type of trademark to be registered when it is a non-traditional one.

Issuance of Digital Certificates of Registration.

Furthermore, the National Board of Industrial Property (INPI) implemented the issuance, signing and notification of Certificates of Registration in digital form, thereby taking one more step into the prosecution of trademarks online. (For more information, please read our Newsletter 2).
The certificates of registration are digitally signed by the INPI and their issuance is automatically notified by means of an electronic mail to the address declared in the corresponding administrative file. In addition, an alphanumeric identification code that allows downloading and browsing the document is forwarded.

Brazil
The country joins the CISG. On 2014 the Convention will be in force.

On April 1st 2014 the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) will be in force in Brazil. This country will be the 80th State joining this Convention whose Members represent more than 90% of the world trade.
